With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I've been thinking a lot about how it used to be. When you would cut out cards for everyone in your class and exchange candy and chocolate. I MISS THAT! Over the years, Valentine's Day has become more and more commercial. Maybe I didn't realize it as much when I was younger, but now I can't help but notice the dozens of advertisements for jewelry and perfume and whatever else counts toward a gift for significant others. I wish it was still as simple as buying a set of Charlie Brown valentines and bag of jolly ranchers. Boys are hard enough to buy for as it is. What if he spends a lot of money on a dozen roses and all I do for him is bake a dozen cookies? Too much pressure. Honestly, I will be happy with a free meal.
